Its own microphone
Hears the conversation even when your phone is in your pocket. Off until you turn it on.
A green listening light
Designed to be wired to the mic itself, so the mic can't run without the light on.
Auto-brightness
A light sensor turns the screen up outside and down inside, which saves battery.
Built-in compass
Knows which way you're facing, so directions point the right way.
Touch strip
Tap the bar to start captions, swipe to switch screens. There's a button too.
Your own lenses
The picture sits in front of your lens, so prescription and blue-light lenses keep working.

No camera
L1 can't take photos or video of anyone.
Mic off by default
